I have about 24 pence in coppers and 4 potatos a tin of beas and about 200g of rice. Cant go to food bank as i earn too much.

Billions of chinese manage on similar frugal options. I admit, it is going to be a touch uncomfortable, but entirely possible. You wont die in 13 days as long as you drink water.

In the meantime, churches often have some sort of alms provisions and there will be 'help the homeless' shelters probably. If you go to the back of a supermarket after hours, you can often find bins of perfectly edible food. Otherwise, it is take any work anywhere for however long you need it.

How is it you ended up with an AOE that leaves you with no money for food anyway? I thought they had to be means tested?

Do you have any herbs, spices, oils, vinegar or other storecupboard staples?

It might be worth popping over the the old school board as there are folk on there with some very creative ways of getting your food to last until pay day. Maybe even combine that with some Road Kill (coins not dead badgers).

    How about your bank?

Most banks allow you to go a tenner or so over (Lloyds allows £25 IIRC) without incurring charges.

I buy Tesco spaghetti, it is 20p for 500g. That will give you 6 meals and your potatoes 4 meals and your rice 3 meals. Stir through the peas and anything else you have to hand. Not great or appetising but you won't starve.

What will your food budget be next month? You can eat very well on £12.50-£15.00 a week. I can add some links to meal plans and recipes if you need them :)

    I was wondering that....

However, go to your nearest salvation army church, they will help you in the short term if you need it. Ask your Mum as well.

Hopefully this is only a timing issue and you will have that new job in Switzerland before you know it.

The attachment should leave you enough money to live off. If the problem is other debts then you will need to arrange some kind of payment plan with our other creditors. If the attachment has been set too high then you need to get back in touch with the court and ask them to look at it again.

    Hi Michael,

I would definitely look into a food bank and speaking to family and friends, asking for food is likely to get a better response than asking for money.

The other thing is to eat smaller portions to stave off the hunger pangs and drink a lot of water.

You say you have nothing to sell? Not even books on the local market (if there is one), you could always look at using the computer or phone you are using to obtain a small loan (when I say small, I mean small, I.e. £10 so when you have to buy it back it's just a couple of £'s on top) but be sure to buy food and not gamble!

  • Co-op does frozen aisle meals at a £1, pack of basic pasta costs 29p Sainsbury's, probably less at likes of ASDA, a saving grace is to make porridge with water to see you through the day so can do without lunch - you can pick this up cheapish too, along with noodles

If you've a job you can get a loan it is entirely possible to borrow actually less then £100 over longer then 1 month now under the right lender of course - just keeping thinking 2 weeks will fly by and do a tidy up to see if you can find any spare change x

It does, if it's an AOE resulting from a ccj. You can request a variation on a n244.

If it's to do with council tax, it is set at a percentage of earnings, on a sliding scale.

If it's CSA I have known them set ridiculously high, and they are difficult ti get changed.

There's clearly some sort of underlying problem and I don't think we can help until we have the full picture. A statement of affairs would be useful.
