    Never.

I'm with EDF and I used to send meter readings in every three months at their request. This was part of the 'Read and Reward' scheme where you were paid in Nectar points for reading the meters. They pulled the scheme, so I stopped reading the meters. Why should I do their job for nothing?

Now I get a blizzard of mail from them asking to 'urgently' provide readings, about how easy it is and all the rest of it. I ignore the lot. I do actually read the meters, just to check that my payments are not drifting too far from my usage, but I'll only update EDF if this is ever the case. So far, after about three years, it hasn't been, so I've not contacted them. And, they have actually read them occasionally themselves anyway.

They can sod off. Since when did it become our responsibility to read meters?

I find it best to report meter reads to EDF once every Qtr. ( Three at 91 days apart and one at 92 days ) This way you get accurate billing and your actual useage over a full year.
Each bill will be on the website within 48hrs of giving the reading

I have been sending readings monthly as I moved into property in Oct . They estimated £53 per month electric, but now £11 as useage is low and in credit by a lot due to the Warm Home Discount!. Gas was £29 but now £23 per month. Last month only used £6.04 gas!! Standing charge more than useage!!!

    Sounds perfect :)

EDF usually produce a new bill/statement on submission of meter readings if it's been at least 28 days since the last one.

The more often you submit readings, the more accurate bills you get :)

that's what I thought if I give a monthly reading my bills will be more accurate ,but I was told by an edf rep that if you submit monthly readings you can get inaccurate bills ,figure that one out
