I have a problem claiming PPI. Hope someone can help. I am divorced, and we are due PPI on a loan and mortgage. My ex is refusing to sign the forms as he thinks I will receive all the money. A letter has been sent from the claim company explaining the ppi will be split 50/50, but he still won't sign ! Is there anyway I can just claim my half ? x

Has your claim been upheld ? If it has, let the claims company know you are divorced and ask them to just pay your half.0 -
Can you instruct the bank just to pay 50%?0

I've dealt with 50/50 claims before and have made 2 separate payments, so it is possible. If one party doesn't sign the acceptance letter, they don't get paid.0

Thank you all so much for your advice. The claims company knows that we are divorced. I will contact them about just paying the 50% to me and see what happens. Annoying thing is that I actually made all the payments from my own personal bank account !
Thanks again xxx0 -

Why did you not just write a letter of complaint direct to the Bank?0 -
One of the companies no longer exists, so the claim company pay that one. Unfortunately I was a bit naive going into this and was recommended this company by a friend xx0

The risk now is that your ex does agree to it but refuses to pay the claims company. as he did not employ them, he wont have to pay them. You would then be left with the bill on the whole amount even though you personally get half of it.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
