Invoice From DHL – Pay it or fight it?

I get a LOT of emails DHL and the likes telling me an invoice in enclosed – I obviously delete them. But today I got a letter from Control Account telling me I owe £30.00 for VAT and customs
I ordered a mobile phone booster from
http://www.mobilephonesignalbooster.com
It came next day all free postage from UK
But it didn’t work.
So I was having an email conversation with them trying to fix it and another one was delivered.
So I assumed they send it from the UK
Apparently it came from Hong Kong and I am liable to the VAT & customs charge on it.
Control Account say I need to get in touch with the seller.
I have left 5 messages with mobile phone booster company to get back to me but they are not returning my calls.
So – what options do I have – I am leaning towards paying the £30 – just to save the hassle.
It seems strange that someone can send me something and then I get a £30 bill.
Do I realistically have any other options?

Terms and Conditions that you agreed to when ordering...
10.4 By you purchasing the repeater you are accepting that this is a self import from outside the EU and may have to pay VAT and Duty upon receiving the repeater.

Actually the site is http://www.mobilephonesignalbooster.net/
Which has UK written all over it
I did check it was all UK stock and UK delivered - in fact I just did again
But you are right - I should have read the small print
Guess I'll pay up the £30.0 -
With that transcript I would push for them to pay for it, I think though you wouldnt get very far though,GandalfTheTight wrote: »Actually the site is http://www.mobilephonesignalbooster.net/
