Options
Hi just found out that my eldery mother has signed a contract to with Bathing Solutions to

- remove existing bath
- provide a walk in shower enclosure
- provide a lift up seat
- provide two plastic grab rails
- refit the exisiting electric shower

for the sum of £6,000!!!!! (they started at £9k and came down to £6!)

Surely this is not right - my google search does not turn up anything so hoping for thoughts on this from forumites ...

many thanks in advance

Oh it sounds very expensive. An elderly friend of my sisters had called in one of these companies that focus on elderly/disabled bathroom fittings & I know she was quoted about £5,500.

My sister was shocked & said she'd find somebody to do the job for her & I think she ended up paying about £2,500 by using a sole trader my sister found.

Is there some sort of cancellation policy in the contract your mother has signed? You need to read this & find out what the options are for cancelling.

I'm not sure if it will help if you contact Trading Standards as they must be very used to this sort of thing.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.
