Virgin Media Default

I wonder if any folks have any advice, at the end of 2011 I split from my ex and moved out. Cancelled my services and they told me to wait for a final bill. Gave them my new address (in the same road).

It being a difficult time for myself didnt realise till a 3 months later Id never got a final bill. So I called Virgin and they had a completely different address from where I was living, a town I might add Ive never even heard of nor been to hence I never got any correspondance from them. I settled them immediately.

Fast forward to now and I have a Default on my account despite having settled the account after their mistake. I have contacted Virgin through Check My File and they have said the default stands despite other Virgin employees telling me (admittedly on the telephone) that as far as Virgin is concerned my account was settled and all in order.

Is there anything I can do Ive complained today in writing I just dont want to waste my time if I dont have any real arguement. The debt was for just £64 and could go against me getting a mortgage despite all my other finances being all in order?

Any advice greatly appreciated :)

After 3 months you would have a late payment marker - not a default. If you are saying you terminated service and they continued to bill you, you certainly gave a case to argue - especially if you cleared all amounts.

It may be better to Write, seeking the removal.
  • Hi

Thanks for the reply it was a final bill for October and a few days to take it up to the moving out date. My main issue is how can I default on a bill I never recieved?

If there default then make a formal complaint. Then if no joy getting the default removed, take them to the communications ombudsman and the ICO.

There is also a vodafone rep on here you can contact.
How will a Vodafone rep assist with a Virgin Media default? ;)

They won't. I was reading a vodafone thread in another tab earlier. ;)
