Suspected illegal gas fitter

Report the person to the Health and Safety Executive- https://www.hse.gov.uk. They will conduct their own investigation and prosecute the fitter if the work has been improperly done0

Does the installer not work for the company who you originally contracted the work to?
It is not uncommon for other employees to install under a company's gas safe ID number
But if they do that they would have to have a registered guy sign of the work.
But in this case I think the OP means that the job was just passed from her installer of choice to someone he put forward rather than a direct employee??I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -

Many years ago when I did site work we used to have one RGI to every 30 plumbers! Even now I know of many who do as I described
Why would the origional installer pass another installers details and risk a poor rep?? Always more to a story !Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure0 -

Yes, of course there is, but maybe this guy was a 1 man band and off loaded to a mate????.
Ok, you could get away with what you said under corgi, but, today the registered fitter has to sign/sign off..
Just maybe that could be the delay, or "Always more to a story", as you say.;);)
I do have a vested interest here as a consumer, not a trader.
I'm having a boiler fitted tues next. First time in a lifetime I've paid for help in "building work".
Why? simply to ensure my future home sale is seamless, NOT because I want peace of mind that it has been done correctly.
Bottom line for others to work to, don't let an installer through the door without his photo gas safe ID, end of.I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
