Bathroom refit - needs shower - north London

Have just bought a flat where the bathroom needs complete refurbishment and wondering where to start. It looks like a job for professionals. There is a bath (wood panelled) which is coming off the wall (silicon not holding) with no shower, laminate flooring which is coming off the floor and an artex panel (which we have been advised is likely to contain asbestos) on the wall with a hole in. Where should we go for quotes to refurb it?

If not, then use one of the search sites, I use checkatrade. Personally I would suggest you look for local fitters, ideally a 1 or 2 man band, aim for not VAT registered if you can. Then get 3 of them round to quote. You need to have an idea. E.g say you want bath and toilet locations the same, you want a new heated towel rail and to move the sink. You will supply the bath, sink toilet, tiles etc. get them to quote on that basis so you are comparing like for like.

At least tht is where I would start.

I would never ever go near the likes of B&Q, Homebase etc.

I know somebody who did my bathroom and kitchen as well. He did it very quickly and the price good. I can try to find his number if you haven't already find someone.
