Hi could anybody point me in the right direction please. I have lots of problems with my back which will never get better and also osteoarthritis in my hands, knees and feet. I cant walk very far and am always in constant pain. I had to leave my nurse training 4 yrs ago and have tried various jobs all within the health profession but have had to call it a day and look for other work. I am only trained in work of this type and need to re-train for other types of work but because my husband works we are only just over the threshold for me getting any funding, i cant afford the cost of courses. Does anybody know of anywhere i can apply to for help, i would like to keep working for as long as possible but unless i can re-train i would have to claim for some kind of benefit. I am 51 and am worrying that as time passes by its just going to get harder to find any kind of work. I apologise if i have posted this in the wrong place.

If you cannot walk 20 yards unassisted without 'severe discomfort' - you would be entitled to the high rate mobility component of PIP.
PIP is not an out-of-work benefit, and can be claimed by the in-work.0
