I seem to have quite complicated travel insurance requirements, anyone got any advice

My wife and I are going to Canada at the end of the month, and then getting a flight to New York for 3 nights before returning home.
First question: Is this a multi trip policy? I'm going away once but to 2 different places.

My wife is 26 weeks pregnant, no problems with the airline, but;
Second question: Do I need special travel insurance for pregnancy?

My wife also has Crohn's disease.
Final question: Do I need special insurance again?

Thanks all!

    This is a single trip as you are only leaving the UK once. You will have to declare the pregnancy and Crohn's disease to the insurer so that you are covered in case of any problems. This is particularly important as you are going to the US.

    It is till ( as aid above) a single trip, but I would tell them that you are going to Canada as well as US.

    Declare anything that you have wrong with you, is my motto. Shouldn't be an issue with Crohn's disease unless she is under the hospital about it and any change in meds, appointments at hospital, any admittance to hospital etc over past few years. My OH has Diverticular disease and a lot of other issues, I suffer from Cluster headaches and am on meds used for Heart problems to reduce it, so imagine the issues I have with insurance, but we did get sorted out.

    Best thing to be is truthful and not hide anything from them. As long as you tell them everything, they don't have a opt out, if anything goes wrong.

    My OH has Crohn's disease, and when we looked at standard travel insurance providers they were asking for letters from doctors about his condition - which was fine in principle, but would have been a lot of faffing about to actually get hold of.

    We ended up going to a specialist travel insurer - I think but I'm not 100% sure it was these people

    - we filled in the online forms, and weren't asked for extra details, and the cover was a reasonable price. We didn't actually claim, so I can't tell you how good they might be if you try to claim.

    It's not complicated - you just say to the insurance company that your wife is 26 weeks pregnant, has Crohns Disease and that you are going to the US & Canada.
