Child Day bed with trundle?

Hi!
I'm moving soon into a 3 bed house (Currently in a 2 bed)
My 2 girls share a room, Youngest (2yo) is in a cotbed.
The plan is, they each get a room. The youngest will get the eldests furniture (Bed and wardrobe) and the eldest will get new ones.
Now, looking at a bed for my eldest I was wondering whether to invest in a day bed with guest trundle. My thinking was
A, we might have visitors who need a bed (Very rare tbh! usually just the off friend stopping over who kips on the sofa but family have suggested they might visit)
B, when shes older and wants friends over to sleep we have room for them
But they seem expensive compared to a "normal" bed
Are they worth it?

I used to have a bed like this in my spare room. The 2nd bed had legs to raise it so it could be fitted beside the bed proper, to form a double bed.
I'd say that they are worth it just for the sheer convenience of having an extra bed, providing you have the money to spare.
If not, perhaps consider one of the Raised self inflating air mattresses on the market. I also had one of those until I sold it very recently. It was as big as a single bed & much the same height as a normal bed. It inflated within a few seconds & was very easy to deflate & pack away again. It was very comfortable as I slept on it a few times, giving up my bigger bed to guests sometimes.
One of the big conveniences was during the day, when guests were still there but the bed not needed to be used til night time, the bed was able to be lifted & just leant against the wall if the floor space was needed or even moved into another room until later. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
Ive got two mattresses on my daughters bed - i can take one off to put on the floor when she has a sleepover.0
