Do you have a B&M near you? Ours sells paint - Leyland, Crown, Dulux etc, along with bog standard trade paints in white and magnolia, all very cheap. You had me at your proper use of "you're".0

Devon/Cornwall Trago Mills. I'd be looking in "stack 'em high, sell 'em cheap" discount warehouse places. And paint it all white as that's cheapest/easiest (one brush needed and one tin of paint to store) ..... and if you want colour in the future it's fine as a base coat colour.0

You will have to shop around and make a decision - in my experience the big DIY warehouses are not the cheapest.
Having said that the cheapest paint is not necessarily the best bet as it will not be as thick, so may need several coats.
If you want quick and cheap try freshening the place up by using the same colour as is already there - if it is not too hideous, then you might get away with a single coat.0 -
If you want a cheap & quick fix then you probably won't do better than buying big tubs of Magnolia paint. It tends to be as cheap as chips & same price as white & is quite un-offensive & would do you until you could properly decide on what colour scheme you'd really like & perhaps saved up a bit of money. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
wait until b+q or homebase has a 3 for 2 offer , then get 1 10 litre tub of white , if you are doing ceilings and then a couple of tubs of magnolia, there should be enough to do the whole place , the tubs are around £36 (dulux supermatt)each , so you would only pay just over £70 and depending how much voucher money you've got there may be enough for paint for woodwork and any filler etc you may need0

EEK! I paid £25 for 2 big 10 litre tubs of Crown paint last year when B&Q had an offer on & they had both white & magnolia, so bigger bargains are to be had if you look around. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

Asda Smartprice Magnolia emulsion is I think £8 a 10 litre tub.
It's worth taking time to rub down or even strip woodwork before glossing and that's usually more noticeable than walls.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0 -
If you have a Screwfix near you they do a 10L Trade paint (do it in magnolia and white) for £15.
In my experience the trade paint always seems to give better coverage meaning less coats / less effort! :-)
