Thinking of installing a microchip catflap - any recommendations?

Hi, we have just moved to a new home and there is no existing catflap. We are thinking of installing one that reads the cat's microchip. I would be interested in hearing other people's experiences, pro's and con's and if any brand is recommended.

Hi,
We've had the Sureflap for about a year now and it's great, we bought it from Amazon. We had an issue with another cat coming in and spraying but this stopped the problem immediately.
I was reluctant to spend so much money on a cat flap but we now wouldn't use anything else, it was worth every penny.0 -
Sureflap also, installed in a window for maybe 2yrs now, can't fault it! Best of all no other cats coming in!0

Thank you, just what I needed to hear! We also had the problem in the previous house with a neighbours cat coming in & spraying. I don't want that to happen in the new house -so thank you - I've just placed an order for Sureflap!0

I've just had one fitted. My new cat who I've only had 2 weeks is now playing out a bit, although not via the catflap just yet. There are alot of cats on my road and I don't want them following her in via an ordinary one, hence shelling out for a "posh" one. They don't blow in the wind either.0

I had my Sureflap Microchip cat flap fitted this weekend and it's brilliant!I have a simple philosophy:
Fill what's empty. Empty what's full. Scratch where it itches.

Had a sureflap for a few years now and really like it. I sort of wish I'd gone for the make that is main operated (rather than battery like sureflap is) as you can set a timer on that one…but to be honest we don't go out all that much so we're normally here to set it to 'in only' by hand.
Other than the lack of a timer, no complaints about our sure flap at all.PAYDBX 2016 #55 100% paid! :j Officially bad debt free...don't count my mortgage.
Now to start saving...it's a whole new world!!0
