Used my barclaycard online and item has not arrived

Hi

I at the start of April. I used my Barclaycard to purchase something from an online store based in Australia.

I had an automated email to confirm the order and the money was charged to my credit card. After a couple of weeks, I have not received the item or had an update to say it had been sent. So I sent them an email asking for a shipping reference. Nothing no response.

So after a week I sent a second email, again no response. Delivery was meant to be within 21 days and thats passed.

Should I now contact Barclaycard and is there anything that they can do?

Thanks

Alex

They're jointly liable with the retailer under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act, so you could claim a refund for missing goods from them. However, I suspect it'll be worth continuing to pursue the supplier a bit more first....

Edit: S75 only applies if sale value exceeds £100, see post #5!

I recently bought a pizza online from Domino and paid for it by my Barclaycard. I made a complaint because it was awful and Domino promised a refund but never happened. I complained to BC and without question they refunded the amount without checking with Domino.

They refunded you because it's cheaper for them to do that than dispute it further with dominos. It's not cost effective for them to dispute low value transactions.

The OP should contact barclaycard and ask them to action a dispute for non receipt of goods.

They might not be liable, we don't know the cost of the item, if it's less than £100 then the OP would need to go down the Chargeback route instead.

It would cost more DOUGH to investigate.
Never argue with an idiot. Especially not this idiot because I'm always right anyway.

I'm confused. Assumed Mable was joking...

They could be but I saw it as they queried the non receipt of the refund, not the fact that the pizza wasn't good !
