Warning: near-disaster with Lastminute

I bought a flight(costing over 600 pounds) from this agency. After double-checking every detail, I entered credit card details. A small mistake meant that I had to go back and re-enter the card details. I was then ready to press the final "buy" button, but for some reason decided to have a final check. The page on which you commit yourself to purchase does not show travel dates, but has a link on which you can click to display all details, so I am surprised that I bothered.
Just as well that I did: in the process of changing the card details, the departure date had defaulted to the day on which I was making the booking! And as has been made clear by other posters on this site, while airlines allow corrections in this kind of situation, on-line travel agencies do not.
The moral has to be: double-check everything, and then do so again.

Absolutely, many websites default to normal settings when you go back and forth, you have to be so very very careful, when it is a lot of money it may be worth having someone with you as an extra pair of eyes.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

I had a disaster with Lastminute a few years ago. I booked a hotel room with them for a romantic break. Got all the confirmation emails through fine. Got to the hotel on the day of the booking to find the hotel had no record of the booking and they were now full up! They contacted last minute and confirmed it all but said the only thing they could offer us now was a hotel down the road in a room with 2 single beds! :mad:0
