    Thank you all! :D

I'm going with the majority so Sandisk it is! :T

Got a 32GB USB 3.0 Sandisk Ultra one from mymemory.co.uk for £13.99 which seems to be the cheapest!

I have used them before and they seemed ok - I do hope they are reputable and don't sell fakes?!

When you say recovery do you mean you want it as a back up for your data? If so, presumably you will be rewriting it on a regular basis, in which case I'd suggest that rather than a USB stick you spend a little more money and buy a portable hard drive which will give you a far greater capacity and should prove more reliable (of course, you should really buy two and keep one off site).

Thanks for your reply, I have a External HDD for backups!

This is to do the one off "recovery media" is that the correct term? for my Acer Revo as it doesn't have an Optical Drive to do discs.

I have a lexar which is less than 2 years old, and is kaput, but I also have one that is six years old and is perfect. Lexar have offered to check and repair/replace the duff one, but it has sensitive data on it so I declined.
The data was on three devices so it was safe any how, but I couldn't fault them for the offer. the main thing is never rely on one media unless it is just for transitional purposes.

Right, I did suspect that's what you meant but I thought I'd make sure. I think Sandisk will be fine, and indeed any make would probably have done because the chances are you'll never need to use it anyway.

Thanks, that's what I'm hoping - fingers crossed and all that! ;)
