Good morning neighbour

I would spend less on other things for a chance to go some where different.
It has been a long winter.
If you do go most of these have free electric so you are saving the pennies at home. Free swimming pool.
Some - a walk along the sea front.
Just cook from the caravan/apartment
Things to do for free at home are gardening, crafting. Cleaning. Reading. Walking to park/library. Eat lunch in the garden. Learn to recycle more and give things a second use. Batch baking. YS shopping.
Spending a little petrol money. We walk our dog at Alice halt, Firmly park lodge. Walk along the canal. Feed the ducks.
Take a snack or picnic, ball and camera.
Go visit Grandma and take her a HM cake. The secret to success is making very small, yet constant changes.:)0 -
Some ideas here, for your area
http://www.dayoutwiththekids.co.uk/things-to-do/Farnborough
but as said, do the maths for the cost of travel plus admission to local attractions versus the cost of going on your hol and using the free facilities there. If you self cater, then your grocery bill will be the same (as long as you shop smart and don't use the mega expensive on-site shop).0 -
Would they change the holiday park to one closer to where you live so you don't need as much petrol?
I agree it's a shame not to go, once you're there it doesn't need to cost any more than living at home.
If you absolutely can't go then selling the holiday sounds a good option.Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)
December £361.54, November £322.28, October £288.52, September £374.30, August £223.95, July £71.45, June £251.22, May£119.33, April £236.24, March £106.74, Feb £40.99, Jan £98.54) Total for 2017 - £2,495.100 -
Hi
Sorry I've not had time to log on until now!
We have asked to borrow a bit from the Inlaws so we have our petrol money ( going to perranporth)
I've heard the beaches are great so praying for good enough weather to just spend lots of time building sand castles, collecting shells and paddling and picnic.
Thanks so much to everyone for your suggestions, it definitely made me look closer at our options. We have £10 to last for 11 days and then the petrol money and about £30 for food for that week away, if anything it will be nice just to get away and go to a beach and see different surroundings.Everything is always better after a cup of tea0 -
P.s I've sold most of our stuff already but have a couple things on eBay might make £10 so that would be great, also got £10 amazon voucher from a survey ( not sure how that helps lol) and awaiting £6 from another survey

Go for it Chirpychick. Well done.
Husband and I, plus dog are going to the Isle of White on Monday for a midweek break.
Not a sun holiday as such because I booked direct with park online.
Value caravan and free ferry crossing. Looking forward to somewhere different.
I will be home cooking and making picnics all week.
Have been looking on the internet for near free places to visit and walk the dog. See the views. The secret to success is making very small, yet constant changes.:)0
