Solar Panels
Just looking at the possibilities of solar panels. Not quite sure what I can expect in return? Free electricity for myself plus maybe some cash back for putting power back into the grid?
Or just free electricity for myself?
Anyone got any experiences or thoughts on the matter?
Companies who excel or who to avoid?
Thanks

This explains it: http://www.energysavingtrust.org.uk/Generating-energy/Choosing-a-renewable-technology/Solar-panels-PV
Depending on the output of your system, and the weather and time of day, you will easily cover your own electricity usage. You'll begin looking into ways of shifting demand so you use energy when it is being generated.
The bulk of the payments are in electricity generation, not export, although you do get a payment for export as well. Indeed, export is based on the assumption you will export half of what you generate, so it makes financial sense to actually use as much as you can.0 -
