hi all , i have received a PCN with images from apcoa at birmingham airport, i tried to login to their site to view the additional images they said they had of the offence but when i typed in my charge notice number and registration number it stated No match has been found against our records. Please double check the details entered and try again. i double checked my details and re-entered them only to receive the same message. Has this happened to anyone else and does it mean they somehow lost the record of the offence , Also the date of issue of this notice was 18 days after the offence, please can anyone enlighten me, thanks.

Yes I can enlighten you, this is not an offence or a fine! This is an invoice by a private parking company only. I suggest you read the sticky thread by coupon mad, it explains everything in there for you. When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

I have no doubt that you commited the heinous offence of stopping in their "No Stopping" zone - probably to pick someone up or to drop them off.
APCOA are employed by the airport to suppoosedly "police" this zone and issue the tickets. These tickets are not backed by statute law and you have commited no offence. In effect APCOA are alleging that by failing to abide by their rules you have cost them or the airport money - though goodness only knows how?
The Newbies thread contains all the information you need to know about appealing to APCOA and then making you appeal to POPLA. You will win and the whole exercise will cost you nothing - except a little bit of reading time and a little longer spent in cutting, pasting and editing an appeal template.
Finally, APCOA do not "do" court - so there is no reason for you to be concerned. My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016).
For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com0 -

It cost them the 1 pound that you should have paid in the short stay car parkWe’ve had to remove your signature because your opinion differs from ours. However, they have incurred even more expense (comparatively) in obtaining details from DVLA and then sending the OP the demand. And these companies are operated by supposedly rational people?
Perhaps, then, running a private parking company is where young, trainee bankers go to cut their teeth in fleecing the public and honing the sheer unadulterated, brass-necked affrontery they need in order to describe themselves as responsible and reasonable businessmen having to deal with our inability to manage our finances?
Then again, perhaps not? I really shouldn't waste space here with my flights of fancy. As any fule kno bankers of course are not born and mature in the normal sense. They hatch, fully grown from the chests of their hosts a la Alien. My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016).
