Wait for Notice or contact store

Hi, I have read as much as I could first.
I reserved an item at major store and used the 15min pick up parking at the rear. Only one assistant on counter so had to wait.I asked "I used pick up parking is that ok?" she said it's not run by us, if you go over you will get £100 fine. I think I was 5-10 mins over. Do I contact the store first and try to get them to cancel or wait for a notice in the post?
I should also say I could see cameras that were probably number plate recognition.
Thank's

A few questions for you
1) are you the registered keeper?
2) is this in England or Wales ?
3) who is the parking company?
ThanksWhen posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

Thank's for your reply Stroma,
I am the registered keeper it's in england.
I have not read the parking sign but I found same shop same town
on the net and G24 was the company, but the posts were a couple of years ago.
Thank's0 -
So are you saying you haven't received either a windscreen ticket or a Parking Charge notice through the post yet?0
-
I have not had any notification yet but it's very likely.
I am trying to find out if it's better to wait or get the store to stop any possible ticket before it's issued.
Thanks0 -
always try and get the landowner to cancel any ticket if you have one , if you dont have one I fail to see how you can cancel something that may be non-existent , in which case you wait
otherwise the NEWBIES thread tells you what to do about waiting for an NTK (dependent on the parking company involved)
there is even a flow chart linked in that thread, for clarity0 -

Personally I would wait until there was actually a notice to complain about but it may be worth speaking to the store to see if they can ensure a ticket doesn't get issued against your car reg.no but don't admit anything - just say perhaps exceeded the time due to the delay and don't admit who the driver was.
But if it's G24 they will be very easy to see the back of anyway.
If a notice turns up from them just send the letter below which forum member Hot Bring advises people to use and which has resulted in cancellations within days many times now.Dear G24,
This is an appeal against the charge issued to the vehicle with the registration XXXXXX, charge reference XXXX.
It is the registered keepers assertion that :
1. The charge is not a genuine pre-estimate of loss.
2. That the signage does not conform to the BPA CoP to which G24 has committed.
3. That G24 has no authority to issue charges over the land in question.
As such the charge is rejected. You should now either cancel said charge or provide a POPLA code for the registered keeper to appeal to the independent adjudicator.
Any further correspondence other than confirmation of cancellation or a POPLA code will be considered harassment and could result in legal action being taken against you.
Yours,
Print name ( don't sign ).
Parking Companies do change though - so if a notice turns up from a different company come back on and read the NEWBIES sticky thread for advice and template appeal letter as Redx has advised0 -
Sorry if I missed something, I did see a flowchart in the newbee thread but it assumed ticket had been issued.
As this is such a major store I hoped they could have contacted the parking company to say I was a genuine customer and nip it in the bud before any possible action was taken, guess I will just have to wait and see.
Thanks0 -
do not assume , and do not assume these parking companies are ethical
if you have no windscreen ticket , you will have to wait and see what turns up over the next 14 days if they adhere to pofa 2012 , or up to 6 years if they dont adhere to pofa 2012
if its G24 and you get a pcn , use the template letter in this thread to scare them off , or popla if they continue to persist
sometimes the retailers have no sway over the parking company as it depends who the landowner is , so I say again , do not assume0
