In your situation, I would certainly see an IFA and as there is land involved (agricultural land? Land zoned for development? Land with any kind of covenant/legal protection?), I would make sure that I found someone qualified to advise in this area.
Your parents' solicitors might be in a position to suggest firms you could approach.0 -

I am going to consult an IFA, to discuss what options are available to me.
My plan is to continue living at home as it is where i grew up and as a previous post said it has a lot of memories attached to it. The land -maybe look to let for equestrian use to keep the grass down.
By no means am I going to waste the money left to me, I know that money certainly doesn't buy happiness. No amount of fast cars or top of the range material items are going to fill the void in my life, so I would be stupid to spend it on anything that I won't get a return on.
