Yes, I am in Scotland and I am using an Insolvency Practitioner.
Opening bank account in the morning and seeing the IP in the afternoon- I understand he's going to be my Trustee in Bankruptcy?
I'll have a look to see if I can find the Stepchange figures unless anyone has a link?
There's a link on one of my postsbankrupt may0 -
I opened a co-op cashminder account before being BR- has been great so far- internet banking, take out/put money in via post office....hope they survive as I had debt with barclays!0

I just tried to google it to find it but I can't remember what I searched for the last time sorry but it is on here somewhere too0

I have read on the BBC Business site that there was a change being made to the insolvency law (2012) which meant that the bank would have less responsibility towards bankrupts and Co-op were considering allowing undischarged bankrupts to have accounts again. Not sure on their exact stance but i will find out soon enough.BR - 27/05/2014 - Divorced Father of 2 Amazing Children, Step Father to Another 2 Amazing Children and Fiancee to an Amazing Lady0

Does this apply even if you owe Barclaycard money as it's part of Barclays?
Well...it is, and it isn't!
BArclay card is a separate sector of BArclays.
In my experience, the two sides are separate entities.
[For example, a loan via Barclaycard [Barclayloan?] is dealt with entirely differently and separately, to a loan via one's BArclay bank account.]No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......0 -
Opened a Barclays account no problem. They asked if I was going bankrupt so I fessed up and they still let me get internet banking! Seems to vary branch to branch?0

Well, I did it. 2 new Barclay's basic accounts. Internet access etc. They didn't mention BR and neither did I. I also applied for a new coop account just in case. So now I just need to tell the OR that my new accounts are bills and daily expenses? I am a bit nervous now.THE LONG AND THE SLOW ROAD SEEM TO APPLY TO DEBTS AND DIETS... Don't panic, as long as you tell the OR that these are your day to day acounts it should be fine. There is a section on the form that asks this and you can also add it to the notes at the end if you like.
I opened a Coop basic account before my BR and nothing has changed at all. I still have internet & telephone banking and my account wasn't frozen
