Is there a problem with netflix streaming on android at moment or is it supposed to look crap? Looks ok on my surface pro, not exactly blu ray Quality but passable, however on my android tv stiĉk its all blocky. Internet speed is fine, 60-70mbps and ping really low. Is netflix just crippled on purpose like now tv? Just wondering why i'm bothering to pay for something when stuff on icefilms looks far better.

Just checked my /android Tablet - pretty good, but not as good as my Retina iPad. Internet speed is one aspect, but the wifi connection is another and can induce the blocking you describe.

It's either the internet speed or even processing speed on your Android device. Is your device at the lower, mid or top end of the market? I had an Android phone that wasn't able to even play Netflix a few years back.

Its at the lower end, rikomagic mkiiis dual core Rockwell. Hd rips on xbmc play spot on though, maybe Netflix doesn't utilise the gpu.

Didn't know there was a setting for quality, will have a look tomorrow. Cheers for suggestions.
