Stepchange pack sent off, we have buried our heads in the sand for so long we don't have half of the reference numbers
. Hopefully we can update stepchange as and when can get them.
Lots of decisions to make...I can easily treble my income the placement team are continually offering more placements. I would love to take more on however we have one very settled young lad and 3 children of our own. The children keep telling me to go for it! I don't know if we could cope with 6 children especially as the first few months of settling in can be extremely stressful and to add to that I am currently doing a diploma.
If I did decide to go for it my income would jump from £1460.33 p/m to £4381.
Expenses p/m
£152 Pocket Money
£450 Rent (difference between what we need as a family and what we need as a foster family)
£300 Extra Food
£50 Clothing
£40 Water
£100 Entertainment
£75 Christmas
Total Expenses £1167
Leaving £3214 Their will be expenses I haven't thought of so allowing a decent standard of living we could potentially put back £2500 a month.
It seems like a no brainer but I never started fostering in order to make money from it I wanted to help and give a child what my children have and I do worry I wouldn't be able to make that difference if my time was spread so thinly.
I don't need to factor in birthdays as I get an allowance and I also get £2000 towards a holiday and summer activities.
DH has had enough of work and has decided after today's fiasco which could have cost us up to £400 he will be updating his CV and searching for work. He will be looking for something with more responsibility and closer to home.
I found a house that I love in the area we wish to live but we don't have the deposit yet
. It looks very much like our last rental, I would say built by the same developers same look on the exterior and same kitchen. I looked at it and thought ahhh home
:(. I bet it will be gone soon.
The kids go back to school next week and we don't have the money for the school uniform. My mum will be giving me some money on the 28th which leaves me 1 day to get DS's and 3 days for DD1 and DFC.
