Where to get cash from

We're just about to move house, but I'd forgotten that the solicitors want a chunk of cash up front.
Basically, whats the easiest way to borrow 300 quid until I complete the sale?
Overdraft is out of the question (already using that!)
One option is to use the credit card and then shift the debt (so as to avoid the silly interest charges).
I get paid in a weeks time, but I know that you can get fined if you start holding up the sale.

Any ideas?!

One of those cheque cashing salary advance places? they arent cheap though! Cash withdrawal on your credit card wont be cheap either (25% interest probably) but for a week thats the quickest easiest way to be honest. You will pay it off straight after completion right?

Otherwise ask family maybe? ask work for an advance?

Don't forget the surveyor and removal company will also want money up front.

I went against my better instincts and put some on the credit card knowing there would be enough to cover it from the mortgage advance on the day.

I hope you have thought this through properly? If you are strugling for a few hundred quid how are you going to be when interest rates keep rising

    !!!!!!. Pathetic

I hope you're not going to be so disorganised and struggling to find a few hundred quid when it comes to paying the mortgage every month.

    OP,

It is clear that you are not financially prepared to take on the responsibility for servicing a mortgage.

    Pull-out NOW!
In case you hadn't already worked it out - the entire global financial system is predicated on the assumption that you're an idiot:cool:

Goodness me, I didn't know that people were so judgemental on this site!!!

The guy was asking for some advice, not to be told that he is too skint to afford a mortgage.

He might have had some unexpected outgoings this month, or have some debts that will be paid of when he remortgages therefore freeing up some cash!!

Calm down people, I'm sure the OP is moving to a smaller and more affordable house for exactly the reasons you outlined.
Hurrah, now I have more thankings than postings, cheers everyone!

Can you get a salary advance? What about borrowing from parents? Only other suggestion I can think of is a credit card cheque.

In fairness, a lot of people load moving costs onto the mortgage (some even clear debts when moving). I have no credit card debts or loans, but also no savings; preferring to save by overpaying the mortgage.
