Anyone ever shaved their feet??

No I'm not talking hairy toes here I'm talking about hard skin and heels
I usually do my own feet, but in Spring I go to a chiropodist to have them professionally done for sandal time. Its a real treat for my feet and toenails and any hard skin is deftly removed with a scalpel type blade.
My colleague tells me she shaves her own with her husbands fusion razor
She says it is safer than an unguarded blade and does the same job. Is she having me on? It never even entered my head to do this :rotfl:

I dont know about your feet and the degree of hard skin on them but my feet, I'm male, only have a small amount of dryness on the heel which can be rubbed off when warm and damp from the shower or bath. Sort of like an intense exfoliation.
It might be worth trying, regularly to do a similar thing to keep it down. There are file type instruments which might help.
ps I don't bother with my hairy toes

i can't comment on the razor option, but i use a microplane & it's very good. feet need to be bone dry for it to be most effective then loads of foot cream afterwards.0

I have a chiropody sponge - which I don't use much as mostly the hard skin forms for a reason and is comfortable.

These are brilliant!! I've got a different make and my OH uses it for the hard skin on his feet, he loves it and his feet look great afterwards.Even if you stumble, you're still moving forward.0 -
I second the Microplane0

I always thought this was what pumice stones were for. They cost about a pound and are virtually indestructibleLife is like a box of chocolates - drop it and the soft centres splash everywhere0

I use foot scrub and a ped egg which does the job as I do my feet regularly but I love the way my feet feel after a chiropodist visit and they get your feet back to new skin which is great for summer sandals. I like the look of the chiropody sponge but I don't think my colleague would spend money on a gadget when she can use her husbands razor :money:The most potent weapon of the oppressor is the mind of the oppressed. Yes, I have shaved off the dead skin from around my heal. Super easy! x0

I have shaved off the dead skin too- only the very thickened bit. I bought a chiropodists foot shaver thingy (not its proper name) from eb@y for about £2. It goes without saying you need a steady hand- I have nicked my foot once and hell was there a lot of blood!
I use a schol pedi thingy too - it's amazing.
Lastly the very unglamourous flexitol is the Holy Grail of foot creams.
Happy shaving!
Ps i can confess gory satisfaction at the huge amount of dead skin that comes off with the blade. Even more satisfying than seeing how much the ped egg removed
