On going through my late parents estate, I have found some old mortgage and loans details. Is it possible to reclaim PPI if applicable?

You will first have to establish that PPI even existed.
Then you must find out who sold it.
Then you have to find them.
Then you have to establish if it was actually missold in the first place.
Then you can complain.0 -

To add to this, you will generally need a grant of probate identifying you as the executor of your parents estate and with the authority to act on behalf of it.
Despite what you may read in the media PPi is not something you can simply reclaim because you feel like it. You can complain on behalf or your parents estate that it was missold subject to the above. However, on the assumption you weren't actually there then you're limited as to what reasons you can give.0 -
Most mortgage PPI complaints fail. Unlike loan and credit card PPI where most succeed.
The executor of the estate is limited to what they can complain about as they cannot make allegations of what was or was not said. The reasons have to be factual (eligibility for example).I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. Hello,
I have recently been successful with a PPI claim to the RBS, my husband passed away nearly 6 years ago and the personal loan was from 2001.
I needed to send a copy of the death certificate, a copy of the letters of administration. I also had the original loan documents.
Hope that helps0 -
The problem for "cc14" is that she does not seem to know if there actually was any PPI and was just asking a rather generalised question about the possibility of complaint.I needed to send a copy of the death certificate, a copy of the letters of administration. I also had the original loan documents.
I'm glad you were able to complain on behalf of your late partner, thanks for sharing how you went about it.0 -
I have recently claimed on behalf of my Father, I knew he had policies so phoned the banks insurance department who in all fairness were extremely helpful gave me the correct information and with the help of this site I received £22,000.00. My Dad died 7 years ago.0

I'm certain that's very gratifying, especially as your Dad died some time back.0
