High Speed Line From Stratford

I need to commute from Stratford International to St Pancras.
However, on some days (maybe 1-2 days per week) I also need to go to other parts of London and on weekends it would be nice to travel on the tube.
I cannot find an option to combine a zonal tube pass with the high speed line from Stratford to StP.
I know if you buy a high speed season ticket from Ashford International, you can add a zone 1-6 travelcard for around £600 per year. However, if I have to buy a zone 1-3 travelcard separately, this will cost around £1400 per year on top of the cost of the season ticket from Stratford to StP.
I know that TfL and Southeastern operate separately and you pay a premium for HS1, but it seems odd that you can add a zonal tube pass to a ticket from Ashford, but not from Stratford. Any ideas to save some money on my commute?
Thanks

The difference between Stratford International and Ashford in this context is that Stratford International is within the zones.
Thus a Zone 1-3 Travelcard maybe all you need, but I cannot confirm this.0 -
It seems to be a zone 3 station

Yes, it is in zone 3.
But the OP needs to be aware that on that link we are told:
Based on that information, maybe a paper zone 1-3 Travelcard would be needed.Oyster pay as you go and Travelcards on Oyster are not aviable(sic) on Southeastern high speed services.0 -
Thanks for all your replies.
Correct me if I am wrong, but I thought TfL had stopped doing paper tickets for travelcards (except one day travelcards). So a zone 1-3 travelcard would have to be on Oyster and therefore wouldn't work.
When I go onto the Southeastern season ticket website, it offers only a tickets without tube passes. On the same website, you can find the Ashford to StP season ticket with tube pass.
I really don't want to have to buy a season ticket for the high speed line and a season ticket for the tube!0 -
Might be worth asking your question on this excellent Independent all things Oyster website:
The guy that runs that site is very knowledgeable, and I am sure will be able to help you.0 -

!
Correct about TfL but a National Rail station should be able to sell you a zones 1-3 paper travelcard0 -

Please be advised that for ticketing purposes Stratford International is NOT classed as being part of the London zonal ticketing arrangement UNLESS you purchase an outboundry travelcard with the +High speed availability.
A normal 1-3 Travelcard is not for use on High Speed services to/from Stratford International to St Pancras whether on a paper ticket or Oyster(which isnt in use there anyway)"If you no longer go for a gap, you are no longer a racing driver" - Ayrton Senna0 -
@redux - Unfortunately I need to be in other parts of London for 1-2 weekdays (and it would also be nice to use it at weekend), so this isn't cost effective.
@Jeff Bridges hair - this is what I was beginning to suspect, so the only way I could get a ticket with HS1 and z1-3 included would be to buy a ticket from a station further away than Stratford.
Oh well, it looks like I will just have to use the tube only and take the longer commute. It's a shame as I could commute in 7 minutes on HS1, but it's now going to take me a lot longer. It's not really worth buying two season tickets.0 -
To be honest why dont you just use a PATG oyster for other journeys you will take? Or you could go from Stratford(normal) to Caledonian road on the Overground and get the bus down? Yes it takes longer but does end up far far cheaper.
ETA: depending on the price of 2 separate tickets you could get a 12 month annual from Ebbsfleeet includin ghte travelcard for £4,924.00"If you no longer go for a gap, you are no longer a racing driver" - Ayrton Senna0
