Bathrooms - B&Q, Victoria Plumb, Plumbworld etc

Have only a few weeks to put together a bathroom.

Was looking at B&Q, but found exactly what I want for a third of the price on Victoria Plumb. Bath, toilet, taps, basin etc etc.

But I've read loads of awful, awful reviews of Victoria Plumb from searching online. Really gutted because I've put together a perfect bathroom all ready to order for so much cheaper than B&Q.

Would anyone have recommendations for online retailers who can be trusted? A friend recommended PlumbWorld but again, seem to have awful reviews.

Huge difference in quality between the cheaper online brands and showroom items. Even the likes of ideal standard is no where near the quality that it was 10yrs ago .

Bathstore products also gone downhill. Ovalled WC outlets, wavy castings

The only bad thing I've heard about Victoria plumb is there taps aren't the best ever.

With taps they do exactly the same designs as B&Q but so much cheaper! Really frustrating not knowing where to trust and what the quality is.

These are the ones we were looking at as an example:

I've just bought pretty much my entire bathroom from Victorian Plumbing (not to be confused with Victoria Plumb), and the quality and service has been really good so far. Might be worth a look.

P.S. I have a couple of colleagues that have had good service from VictoriaPlumb, but I was swayed away from them by the numerous bad reviews online ... hence going with victorianplumbing.co.uk instead. Similar products, similar pricing.

agree with this just bought my bathroom from here and found customer service helpful
  • Thanks for the feedback.

Just ordered bath, taps, basin/vanity unit and toilet from Victorian Plumbing. Got free delivery and found a 5% off code online.

Similar products and prices to Victoria Plumb, but seemed to be 'brand name' products from Ultra who are a British manufacturer.

Read that you need to make sure you check items before delivery driver leaves though or it's hard to get damaged items replaced!

Victoria Plumb have appalling customer service - we ordered our whole bathroom from them and they failed to deliver the shower despite taking payment for it and refused a refund insisting we had the shower. Cheating so and sos.

  • I refitted our bathroom in the summer, bought everything with exception of the shower valve from Victoria Plumb, it was better quality than similarly priced items from B&Q and I had no issues with delivery etc. The only reason I didn't get the shower valve was that they didn't have the one my wife had set her mind on.

As with most things you only find out how good or bad customer service is when something goes wrong so from that side of things I can't comment on Victoria Plumb.
