Anyone else find it annoying how transaction reporting stutters when the weekend hits? Surely its done via computers and they could be set up to work daily to keep things more accurate?

I've often wondered that about standing orders. Presumably it's all automated so why can't my standing order be processed on a bank holiday?

Also, I get a bit annoyed by "24/7 banking" when I ring up at 10pm and get told "no, that department closes at 8pm, please call back tomorrow", especially because there's only one "telephone banking" number to call and no opening times for specific departments!

I hate it when standing orders can come out of my account, no matter what the day (my rent for example) but any money coming in to my account isn't processed until the next working day. It then shows on the statement as received on the day it was meant to be in, but the charges would have still been applied. I have a non-chargeable overdraft facility which covers things like this in case I need it, but it has in the past caught me out.
