We ordered and paid cash for a kitchen from B&Q albeit through a friend who got us a slight discount on 19/4/14. He is having to make call after call to them because they are saying that it won't be in until 3/6/14:mad:. can we claim a percentage back from them for the total lack of interest that they are showing. The main stumbling blocks seem to be worktops some glass shelves and the handles. Our friend wasn't told about the delay until he had handed the money over, surely this is not a good way to trade and treat customers. Surely a company this size should have better standards than this. What are my options? can I demand that they do something about this? ie give compensation for having to wait for such a long time and inconvenience

The contract is with your friend, so unless he is willing to argue for you and make a fuss, then you haven't got a leg to stand on.
If you want it quicker, cant you try and change some of the products out of stock to alternatives? At least it may come a bit quicker.
They are either waiting for suppliers to deliver, or they are on a 16 week container ship journey, from the far east. Been bad weather out there lately, some of the fires I sell are stuck en route.0 -
Why does he need to make call after call when they've said it wont be available until 3rd June?can I demand that they do something about this?0

If it wont be in until start of june then I cant see what the company can do, yes you might be annoyed but maybe the delay is A out of the hands of B&Q's and B the delay wasn't known at the time hence why your mate wasn't told.
Your friend will have to do all the talking as he paid for the items.0 -
Did your mate get the discount using his Trade Point card hense making the transaction a B2B transaction?0

after my bathroom experience where we were without a bathroom for 8 weeks I would never use B&Q again. Asing around 20 people at work any body who had used B&Q had had an awful experience.
Says enough doesn't it?
(To be fair in the end I got a really top of range shower unit not supplied by B&Q but the hassle was really, really off-putting.) And they got stuff wrong quotinig too0 -
We ordered some tiles from B & Q, when they arrived, they were all broken, so I rejected the delivery, and called them to order some more.
The broken ones were delivered again the next day, and we never received a second delivery, I had to take them back to the store myself over 30 miles away for a refund, and even then they were difficult.
They promised £15 for the inconvenience, it was finally emailed last week, 6 months later.
I will never use them again0
