South Wales and Bristol based Travelhouse offering exchange rate of Euro 1.44 to the pound at all their branches this weekend, also doing Dollars at 1.95.Much better than anywhere else i can find including Martin,s exchange link from last weeks newsletter.Changed £1500 yesterday and gained a whopping 66 euro compared to Thomas Cook and Barclays local rates, cost of hiring a car for a couple of days.Shops are below--

http://www.thomasexchangeglobal.co.uk/ is cheaper... 1.455 for euros and 1.98 for dollars today and if its not local you can always get Travelex to price match the rate by ordering online and collecting from one of their branches!

Looks too much hassle for very little benefit, easier to just pop along to a travel agent and exchange money face to face.If i was going away in 6 weeks faie enough but this thread was started for people who may be going away next week and need exchange quickly with no hassle, just drive to your local branch and pick up the money.

I've always found it easier to book travelex money a couple of days before flying online (saves last minute trips out etc) and collecting it at the airport as you leave, but each to their own really... Also might be useful to anyone away from the travelhouse area!

Hi, I used my Nationwide flex card for the past two weeks in Greece to draw cash from ATM's, the rate from Nationwide was 1.47 and 1.48 so pretty happy.

I use the Nationwide cards as well, but the 1.44 is a cracking high street rate if you need to get some folding (Post Office is around 1.40, and they're normally better than your average TA).
