I had a loan with TSB bank taken out in 1991 I was new to the bank and was told I had to have ppi to be granted the loan, can I still claim for this when its such a long time ago?
I also in the 1990s (1994-1997??) got a car on finance and I also think that I was told I must have ppi to get the finance granted but I do not remember who the finance was with and have no details/paperwork for this how do I find out who to contact to make a claim for this, the car dealer was tommy wass, hunslet road, leeds but is now a reg vardy/evanshalshaw.

you can complain about whatever you like. It is a weak complaint (no proof) but you can still complain.I also in the 1990s (1994-1997??) got a car on finance and I also think that I was told I must have ppi to get the finance granted but I do not remember who the finance was with and have no details/paperwork for this how do I find out who to contact to make a claim for this, the car dealer was tommy wass, hunslet road, leeds but is now a reg vardy/evanshalshaw.
Again you can complain and again it is a weak complaint. However, your main issue on this one is that most car dealers did not become regulated until January 2005. Plus, if the dealer is gone then you have no-one to complain to. (FSCS protection only started in january 2005 for sales made after January 2005).I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). thanks for such a quick reply, I had only just turned 18 when took the loan out and was bit wet behind the ears, I have been getting nagged by the wife to look into claims as she has had a recent successful pay out herself, I am a bit old school and once the money is spent then its a done deal, probably not the best way to think0
