Can a carrot cake be called a carrot cake with only 5% carrots?

Bought a carrot cake the other day as I hadn't had one for a while (well, a few weeks..)
It tasted like chemicals.
Just sat looking at the ingrdients and it actually contains only 5% grated carrtot..

Of course it's only going to be a percentage otherwise it's not going to be a cake. If it was 100% then it would only be a carrot!0

Technically every cake is made from chemicals.
Was there a specific chemical you could taste from it?
