Hello everyone. Welcome to the Weekly Spend Challenge. This challenge is open to anybody, no matter what financial place they are in. Everyone is welcome here.
On this thread please post an amount of money you wish to stay below within the week (Sunday to end of working day on Friday). This can be pennies or thousands it depends on the individual. Then next Saturday report back and pledge for the following week. The challenge runs from Sunday to Friday so we don't include Saturdays but feel free to change the rules to suit you and include Saturdays or start on a different day.
Feel free to update this thread with daily spends if that keeps you on track. We colour code the results as below:
Green - within budget
Red - over budget
Purple - zero spend
Orange - made money over the week
This is a little bit of fun but for many it highlights the fact that maybe that magazine/chocolate bar isn't needed. Hopefully your spending habits can be changed forever.
Moozie was the founder of this challenge and here is a quote taken from her:

The challenge is about incidental spending and not for stuff that should be budgeted elsewhere such as bills, groceries, debt repayment etc but you decide what to include at the end - this is about changing your habits and improving your recording of your spends more than anything else. Have a great week everyone and keep it low!!! Moozie x"

Thread updated to here.
I managed Sunday/today as no spends, at least out of this budget!0 -
Reporting NSD (apart from ys lettuce and bread).
Should be likewise tomorrow? Am going to pop into S@ntaner to enquire re their 123 account, my folks have it and are delighted with the cashback they are getting. Not quite sure how the bank can make it work if they pay you when you spend money.....Busymumofthreeplusdog......

Hi all
Sun - NSD
Mon -£9.20 (coffee, buns & jam at vintage rally)
Tues -£3 (lunch as I left sarnie in fridge:o)
Total - £12.20/£300 -
How are we all doing?
I haven't actually spent anything out of my £15 yet as I used a grocery budget on Monday. Made £15 as well so rather pleased with myself.
I'm also feeling quite good because I've lost 1.2kg since the weekend so that's encouraging me not to spend on extra food. :cool:0 -
£1.00 spent last night at circuits, nowt today so on track....except have a few jobs to do in town tomorrow and DH is now angling for lunch out! I'm saying we can surely hold our hunger til we get home after 3, given that we are going to friends for coffee at 10.30 and I've made shortbread to take( I can't turn up to anyone's house empty handed - it just isn't right!!!) DH now accusing me of wait for it....being mean!!! I prefer the term frugal meself..... What do my MSE mates think?Busymumofthreeplusdog......

As long as he pays and it doesn't come out of your budgets then I don't see a problem with it - let's see who's being mean now0
