Bosch Freezer problem

I have a Bosch Exxcel Frost Free upright freezer (GSU 29424 GB if relevant).
The Red warning light is flashing and the warning bleep is constant and the green temp lights flash between -16 & -18
This has been going on for a few days and if I turn off from the mains for a few seconds the beeps and red light stops off but the green temp lights continue to flash. This is only temporary as reverts to flashing.bleeping m ode.
The unit appears to be holding its freezing temperature (so far !)
Would prefer not to have to buy a new unit if poss - other than that can anyone help me with alternative solutions please ? Thanks

If you can put your frozen food somewhere else (perhaps a neighbour) then I'd suggest you defrost it fully and make sure the compressor gets a chance to warm up. If there is a small blockage it might clear just by allowing things to melt.
Failing that it will need to be looked at by an engineer or be replaced.0 -
Thank you. Are you suggesting that perhaps the auto defrosting drain pipe could be blocked ?
Following the mains turn-off/on the green temp lights flash and eventually these settle down to normal for a few hours before the red light/beeping process re-starts. Of course it has to play up just as it is full of food !!!0 -

Might be worth digging around the web for the fault codes.0 -
Thanks and will check these leads out0

That or any of the small pipe work in the compressor.0 -
Thanks folks for all your help. Went to check the piping only to find the full freezer was in process of a complete melt-down and having to dump the entire contents. Insurance OK and pressure off researching a replacement unit but very frustrating all the same. Thanks again.0
