This is what happens when you are a dependent seller buying a new build. The builder will never be flexible - they want the cash from your lender, so you as the buyer need to be flexible.
We decided early on that we would complete on our sale and move in with Mum in law whilst we waited. In our case that sale fell through, and we lost the house, although we found another new build ready to move four days after we sold again.0 -
I bought from TW just over a year ago. I had 10 working days notice of completion but actually got 14 in the end. My buyer had 9 working days written into their contract to buy my old house. However they also had a long stop date. TW agreed a long stop date and if this date had arrived then we could have pulled out of buying TW house and/or our buyers could have pulled out. Luckily this did not happen! I would suggest you speak to your solicitor about doing the same.0

I always tell people buying an unfinished new build and also selling that they will probably have to move out in order to keep their buyers happy. For that reason if negotiating on a new build off plan purchase I would seek a further "hassle" discount.
That is a problem with new builds. A buyer should simply refuse to accept the condition and tell the seller that a fixed date is wanted and if not agreed and exchanged quickly then he will buy something else.RICHARD WEBSTER
