Pink party theme

My daughter is 4 soon and she is having a party. She is pink crazy so I was thinking of having a pink theme. Although there will be boys there too so I don't know how this will go down with them. I wanted to say on the invites 'pink party wear something pink' but again not for the boys so think that is a no no.
So I thought maybe pink food?
Any suggestions?

Thanks for any help

Pink lemonade, Tesco and Sainsburys both do this, pink icing on fairy cakes, those pink and white wafer biscuits,

I have done this in the past for an adult party and I used a bit of ketchup into egg mayonnaise for a pink tinge. I also did prawns with a marie rose sauce, 4 year old might not like this although my daughter did at that age.

Tesco have a large paper table covering at the moment in pink, they don't call it that though but I can't remember what they call it. They also have a fabby range of pink patterned paper plates and cups etc along with a range of pink plastic cups, cutlery etc.

I'll think on as I'm sure there was other food items I coloured with a touch of red food colouring.

I don't think it will stop them enjoying a pink cake :)

  • My experience has been that little boys actually really like pink.

Depending on the company they may protest not to - I heard a conversation the other day between my 8yr old and very rough'n tough 13yr old neighbour - ds was embarassed about something being pink, saying it didn't belong to him, 13yr old boy responded by saying, 'hey, I like pink!'

    - I was surprised too!!

Carry on and have the party your dd will love, it's her birthday and little boys will probably relish the opportunity to not have to be macho about all things pink

Could you get something that ties in with your pink theme that isn't pink for the boys? For example if you're having pink serviettes, intersperse them with white ones for the boys or if you're getting paper party hats get girlie pink ones but also get another colour for the boys.

I'm not sure if you're going to be doing traditional games but whatabout pass the parcel using pink tissue paper to wrap it?

isn't oneof the fincial papers a pinky colour..

might be cheaper than buying pink paper just to chuck it out after?

What's the old saying Pink to make the boys wink? I am sure the boys will love it. I agree with Hopeilzzy maybe pink and white and white for the boys. Draw a winking eye on their stuff!!!

KP skips have pinkish tinge to them I think.

    Have fun

Thanks for your replies I love the way people are always ready to help.

I would really like to say on the invites wear pink its a pink party but what would you put on the boys invites? There are 30 coming and about half are boys. Or would you just forget that idea?

Might not be appropriate for this but if you mash up cooked beetroot into potato, it make it a beautiful pink colour :)
