I thought i'd make a thread for EDF Customers who have recently switched to the August 2015 tariff.
As some customers may not be aware Edf Blue + Price promise August 2015 is cheaper than Dec 2014, Feb 2015, March 2015, April 2015, June 2015 and July 2015 fixed tariffs.

So how much can you save switching let us know :T

This is a thread for EDF customers, please don't suggest moving to other providers as for myself switching to ovo would save just £23.42.

I could have saved £46 by switching from March 2015 tariff but because EDF did not advise me of the Aug 2015 tariff, I switched to Extra Energy Fixed Sept 2015 ( which, ironically EDF advised me about)and saved £76 plus £40 cashback from hugeswitch.
  • I haven't saved anything :-( in fact every other utility company is dearer than my plan with EDF when I tried to switch. There was only one but that included a get out fee which when I factored that into the equation would've only saved me £17ish a year. I stuck with EDF and sucked the extra pences on the new tarrif up as all the others were just the same. Some were cheaper. I'm on E7 and although a few pence cheaper on the day and night charges. The daily charges were often 3 to a4p dearer a day

I'm on june 15 tariff and the prices are cheaper than quoted on the website for august 15.

    So why would I switch?

    Are you sure??
In my area (Sutton & East Surrey, don't know what it's called for gas+elec),
    From energyHelpline ...
    Standing charges are the same
    Gas June=3.72, Aug=3.617
    Elec June=13.2, Aug=12.39

I've switched from June 2015 to Aug 2015 and saved around £80, but I have unusually high electric use.

My parents are on the June 2014 fix. When I look on uswitch with approx consumption readings of 12000 gas and 3000 electric the Aug 2015 fix is £109 cheaper. It did say the other day on their website that you could have have this tariff and keep paper bills but I can't find it at the moment. When did this tariff come out?

    edit: energyhelpline say £123 cheaper.

    I'm with Money maker

Web site says that I will save £18.60 but figures for Aug 2015 are higher than June 2015 tariff

    June 2015
Elec 12.05p per unit & 18.00p per day
Gas 3.502p per unit & 25.00p per day

    Aug 2015
Elec 12.09p per unit & 18.90p per day
Gas 3.636p per unit & 26.25p per day

The numbers do not add up

    :)

    :)

Just a guess, but 18p plus VAT is 18.9p (ditto 25p....26.25p) so is it possible (since read somewhere standing charges haven't changed?) the June prices you've listed are without VAT and Aug prices are with VAT? i.e. 12.05p could be missing VAT too? Making that June 2015 12.65p reducing to Aug 2015 12.09p ? Similar situation for gas....

....could account for the £18.60 saving (mostly from elec it seems).

You can change back to paper bills in My Account once you've changed.
