Such a confusing array of plans and deals - what company do you use? Please.
Particularly want to know if changing a flat tyre with the spare comes under any cover - I presume it does as there are obviously elderly people who cannot manage to do this.

I use the AA, & pay more than is strictly MSE
Last time I had to call them was for a puncture, about 5 years ago.
And I stand 6 foot 5 & weigh north of 20 stones & all I could manage was to bent my cars, factory fit, wheel wrench attempting to get the nuts off.
Not being at home, no access to proper tools meant a call to the AA.
AA crewman needed a spider brace & 5 foot pole to move the nuts before changing the wheel for me (felt a bit guilty letting him do this)

ADAC - all options - all countries - even with a hire car in USA.
All telephone operators speak perfect English - €80 a year.
Anyone can join - no matter where you live.
The only international club truly for the benefit of it's members - as the RAC and the AA used to be before they became businesses only interested in the profit for their private shareholders.0 -

Is it customary to tip the person from the company that has come to your rescue?0

Autoaid £38 per year for breakdown, homestart, relay for you and 5 passengers. Covers you and spouse/partner for any car.
Hercules asked about tipping. I would bung him some beer money if he went the extra mile (so to speak) but I would do that for anyone not just a breakdown driver.0
