What Sealant

I am looking for sealant to seal round my bath taps - I think that I need a liquid that will penetrate through small cracks / holes and set in the cracks / holes - Screwfix offers Silicon - that will not be suitable because it is to thick just sits on the surface
I am looking for a "self seeking" sealant...
Any suggestions ?

The taps should have rubber washers between them & the bath, anything liquid enough is just gonna run straight through the cracks
I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.

The taps do (now !!) have washers (they didn't originally) - but the holes in the plastic bath are rather too large for the new(ish) taps - and there is a slight gap at the edges..
I filled it up with silicon sealant but this doesn't appear to want to stay put.

This might seem like a stupid question but you are fitting bath taps and not basin taps to the bath?
There is no way bath taps will be too small for the hole in the bath unless someone has enlarged it

Get some sheet lead washers on the underside with some brass back nuts

It sounds like some dafty has drilled the the tap holes bigger than 28mm or your using basin taps on a bath

I have had this problem before with very old cast iron baths where the square hole is too large. When you put the tap in the hole you can still see the 4 corners of the hole. I got over this before by finding a tap with a bigger base/flange which just covered the hole.

The taps are already fitted - some 5 years ago - however, on cleaning around them with some powerful cleaning liquid, the old sealant has been removed and needs replacing
They are bath taps - the holes in the bath are oversized - due to the previous taps needing larger holes !!
