I'll consider them at 100

Direct Line was the one to go for, that done well and nice div
[also, big clue is it was a forced sale]0 -
Despite of media reports there would be an instant profit for stagging the issue this did not happen. The share price is now £1.86. I think the market is trying to tell Saga something.
I had thought yesterday I had made a mistake by not subscribing to the offer but at the moment it appears to have been the right decision.0 -
Is it all over then? Have I missed the boat?Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time :eek:0

I am not quite sure why there is so much negative interest being reported here in the Saga shares, when there has only been conditional dealings so far and todays volume was only 4.5 million. Current price £1.86. Nobody has mentioned this or that they went to £1.95 in the earlier dealings at the start.
They have issued 300 million shares and most of us only received as few as 50% of our applications so there was as expected a big demand.
Tomorrow is when unconditional trading begins.
Can I suggest that for the folk who are convinced that the shares will flop can open a spread betting account with one of the big specialist companies and sell Saga shares short and if they do go down they can make an absolute fortune in a very short time.
WARNING ! If they go up ! Of course they will loose a fortune.
The choice is yours.

It looks like the Daily Mail reported correctly this time. Only the applicants that applied for the minimum £1000 received the full allocation. Others received as few as 50%.Archi_Bald wrote: »LOL, it's in the Daily Mail so it must be true. I wonder why none of the reputable finance columns reported the oversubscription?0 -
Oh dear, you're still whistling in the dark.
I hope you don't lose too much money ...0 -
Maybe that was the case with Saga customers. Ordinary private investors only received a set amount of 400 shares; those who had applied for over £10k got nothing at all.Humberstone27 wrote: »It looks like the Daily Mail reported correctly this time.
