Not able to claim PPI myself

I started to look into claiming back PPI about two years ago. I got as far as getting a credit report and the I've not had time to do anything since then. I know it's probably best to do this myself by posting off letters etc. but realistically that isn't going to happen. I'm currently spending any spare time I have sorting out my debt problems and I know I'll never get around to looking into PPI's (if I haven't managed to do it in the last couple of years isn't not very likely to happen). So my question is what is the best way to do this as I'm not able to do it myself? I'm staying well clear of any text's or email's I get offering to do this for me so are there any company's out there that are fair (a small fee to pay is better than it never getting done)?

Perhaps get a friend to do it for you?

Nobody here will recommend a Claims Company and beware of any unsolicited PMs you may receive that do.

There is no quicker way of doing it.

They still ask you who you are complaining about and need to you to tell them information about you or even get you to fill in the exact same FOS form that you can use yourself at no cost.

If you haven't got one hour in one week to address potential reduction in your debts, any management company will do.

Beware though - if you owe money to any of the people you are complaiing to, the management company will charge yo a fee even if you don't see a penny of the money.
If you are successful, you can wave goodbye to about 50%.

Stop prevaricating and spend an hour doing something potentially useful.

    Hi Rai

I had been putting off claiming for, well, at least a couple of years, thinking it would be too long winded/ difficult. Finally 'bit the bullet' a couple of weeks ago and two claims took less than an hour - did them in my lunch break at work. It IS quicker if you have the original paperwork, but if you have your credit report this may well contain some of the info you need.

I'm waiting for a response, but I have done my bit! You paid the money, and if it was for a mis-sold product why on earth would you want to give it anyone else?

Also, my understanding of claims companies (my OH used one) is you still have to fill out a lot of paperwork yourself, so what would you be paying them for?

    Good luck!
