I also have to consider my neighbours. If my dog is home barking all afternoon it will cause friction. He is a Labrador so not a little lad. I do understand everyone's stance on this though and I promise I am not being difficult with this. I just feel his welfare has to come first. Leaving a pup in such a confined space for 10 hours straight without food and with little water in my opinion is unfair. Maybe when he is older and has the run of the home.

The other way we would combat losing this is for hubby to come home at lunch and give him a 10 min run around the block. But with a 20 min drive each way the cost in fuel and car maintenance far outweighs the cost of the walker.

£300 a year on after school club for my son. I wouldn't leave him in a cupboard to save that money.

Completly agree with you there. The one area I think you could save money is on the food, as £80 a month even with treats sounds very high to me. I have a springer & feed her CSJ food it is excellent quality & price even for the WGF & hypo allagnic one we need to have. They don't advertise just go on word of mouth, food is deleivered in plain white sacks so no extra costs added on. I order direct & get 2 15kgs sacks at once as postage is the same for 30kg as 1kgs:D Just an idea

Oh I will look into that. He is currently on naturediet. It costs 0.65 per meal and £57 per month. The cat food is specific too as she needs sensitive stuff but doesn't go through that much. Cat litter is not much.

I think that was my spend when he was still on 3 meals a day so maybe this is a little over budgeted.

I do buy his food through a cashback site etc.

    Hi,

Just checked my account & i'd say 15kg lasts about 8 weeks for us. Although she is a springer she is on the small side of springers. I buy the odd pack of smart price frozen veg & give that to her as well a few times a week. Obviously your boy is bigger but I think dry food is a lot better & you may not need to feed as much as you think.

On a side note they have excellent customer service & if you ring them & tell them about your dog & what you normally feed, any issue etc they will take you through the options & advise & send samples. Might help you anyway. x

That is fab I will give them a call. He didn't get on with dry food diet as a puppy. He was too hyperactive (to the point that he got kicked out of puppy class "Marley & Me" style lol) so always nervous of changing as he has just started calming down a bit. Will def have a chat though xx

Definitely do not give up the dog walker. You are doing the responsible thing.

    Best wishes.

Thank you - would rather go without so my family can have what they need.
