While I was pulling into a parking space at our local tip the car in the space behind pulled out and hit my rear driver side door causing a dint and a couple of scrapes.
I stopped and then moved on again to park in the space, while I was doing this the other vehicle drove off.
I have his number, the name of a witness and its all on CCTV etc.
My question is, what should I do now?
I do not have a protected no claims and my car is 10 years old and I could if I wanted probably push the dint out myself and respray with a 'rattle can'
Any advice gratefully received.

Find out who the TP's insurer is via the askmid.com website and claim from them directly.0

Assuming that there is un-restricted access to the site, then you should report it to the police within 24 hours as the RTA applies, i.e. failing to stop and exchange details.PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0

Technically its a fail to stop RTC and should be reported to the police first of all.
Then report it to your insurer, give them the police incident number, the registration of the other car and the witness details - and get the CCTV downloaded before it's wiped.
Depends how bothered about it you are - do you want to go through your insurance or are you happy to sort the panel out and forget about it?0 -
And third option, as posted above, find out who the TP insurer is and claim directly off them.clayton16749 wrote: »Depends how bothered about it you are - do you want to go through your insurance or are you happy to sort the panel out and forget about it?0 -
Life is never simple
Askmid shows the other vehicle as uninsured. I ring 101 to report it, nope have to do it in person at the local police station and when I get there its shut.
I will have another go at reporting it tomorrow morning although I won't bother claiming off my insurance.0 -

Remember you have 24 hours in which to report it.0
