New laptop - is a 1 TB hard drive better than 500 GB?

Hello,
I'm looking to buy a new laptop. I've seen one I like but it says the hard drive is 1 TB and I've never heard of TB. Does anyone know if this would be more or less storage than 500 GB? Would be the better one?
Many thanks in advance

That's good to know. Many thanks for responding.0 -
That's only the storage.
It's a balance of screen size, processor, RAM, operating system and other factors.
Don't get too hung up on just one aspect.0
