Windows XP support continues!

From a Microsoft Security Advisory here, dated 1 May 2014:

We have made the decision to issue a security update for Windows XP users. Windows XP is no longer supported by Microsoft, and we continue to encourage customers to migrate to a modern operating system, such as Windows 7 or 8.1.

Yes the don't support the OS but apparently they are still supporting Internet Explorer.
I actually think is mixed blessing as it does nothing to encourage people to get off XP.

I think IE and the parent OS have the same support end date in Microsoft's eyes - the support of IE8 on Windows XP ended at the same time as support for XP itself.
(But IE8 on Vista may still be supported I think?)
