HTC Desire 500

Hello this is my first post and desperately need some advice and help. On 19th March 14 I brought a new HTC Desire 500 on a 24 month contract. On Monday I had my new SD card delivered so I went to install it. This involves taking the back casing off and the diagram shows you to push in the center off the casing and lift from the bottom. So this is what I done. Once installed I turned phone over to find a crack straight across the screen at the area where you push to remove back casing. In my eyes the phone either had a weak screen or a manufacturers problem. I rung three where I got contract and was told to go direct to HTC. I've rung and emailed and been told to book a repair at the expence off £27 just to see if engineer says it cover by warrenty, which two people at HTC have told me it won't be. I think the phone is not fit for purpose and shouldnt be costing me anything after 40 days into a 24 month contract.

Your claim is against the vendor not the manufacturer .Even more so if you are claiming faulty under SOGA .
If HTC have said it will fail warranty then its more likely to be damage as known hardware problems are usually accepted .0
