Parking Charge Notice from Vinci

Today I found this ticket from Vinci stated that the vehicle was not parked fully within a marked bay.

But where I parked there were no marked bays, no signs saying I had to park within marked bays and no road marked restrictions.

Add to this that the person entering the details recorded the registration incorrectly and that the ticket says I should register an appeal within 28 days.

The forum notes clearly state that we should appeal when the keeper has received notification. Clearly if they have recorded the registration incorrectly this is likely to take longer.

So the questions are:-

Do we register our appeal now? If not do we ignore completely due to incorrect registration even if we somehow receive notification with the incorrect registration on it?

Photos have been taken to show that there were no restrictions stated anywhere.

Thank you for creating your own thread. Please now delete your posts from the NEWBIES sticky (as I shall do so for mine).

If the number is written incorrectly on the PCN, one of three things will happen if you don't appeal ...

    1) Vinci will request keeper details from DVLA. As these will not be yours then you'll hear no more about it.

    2) Vinci will request keeper details from DVLA. As these will not be yours then the person they accuse will tell them to FRO (with proof they have the wrong person) - you will hear no more about it.

    3) Vinci will request keeper details from DVLA. As these will not be yours then the person they accuse will tell them to FRO (with proof they have the wrong person). Vinci will check any photos taken at the time, realise they have the wrong vehicle reg, will go back to DVLA again and then get YOUR details - you will then appeal as keeper as per guidance here.

So your choice really, whether you wish the innocent keeper to get hassled. Ultimately it makes no difference in the end if Vinci get to stage 3, other than NOT appealing now gives scope for them to get their NtK wrong.

But wait for some other responses. I'm aware that things can sometimes be subtly different with Vinci.

I don't know why new posters can't see this straight away, seems obvious:
the person entering the details recorded the registration incorrectly and that the ticket says I should register an appeal within 28 days.
NOPE IT SAYS THE DRIVER SHOULD APPEAL AND THAT'S THEIR DEADLINE.
The forum notes clearly state that we should appeal when the keeper has received notification.
YES, BECAUSE YOU ARE NOT APPEALING AS THE DRIVER AND SO THE REGISTERED KEEPER'S DEADLINE STARTS WITH THE FIRST NTK!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
