Small crossover/Renault Captur
I was looking at getting a Kia Sportage last year. A few things cropped up which stopped me getting a new car. in september my tax and insurance finishes so i will be looking to get a new car around then.
I still like the Kia sportage, but i have also recently seen the renault captur which i like the look of and is a few £k less.
I dont do massive amounts of driving, its quite erratic sometimes it will be 500 miles a month, other times it could be closer to 1000-1200. I would say around 10,000 a year.
About 50% of that is motorway driving.
I could get a 2-3 year old Sportage for around £13k or a brand new renault captur for around £14k by the looks of it?
Im wondering if anyone has any other suggestions or comments on either of those?

Without seeing them side-by-side, I'd suspect the Kia's a size bigger. The Captur is basically a Nissan Juke/Clio-on-stilts.
But, obviously, that'll be clear when you test-drive both.0 -
I like the capture and depending on weather you need the car to tow the 0.9 turbo petrol is a very frugal engine. But if it was me I'd also consider a dacia duster, but then I'm a bit weird like that anyway0

We have a Sportage and I parked it next to a Captur the other day. The Kia is quite a bit bigger all round.
I'd certainly test drive both. The Renault has the benefit that its design is three years younger than the Kia.0 -

Unfortunately, it also has the dis-benefit of being (based on well-respected industry research and user experience/customer service results) a Renault.0 -
I did look at the dacia, but i dont really like it. I also looked at the upcoming ford ecoflex? But with a tyre on the outside and living in manchester.... i would come back with a brick stuck to the back of the car :-P
I just dont like the nissan juke.
The thing i liked about the renault is that it said it was pretty quiet inside - which at the minute when im on motorways (or not), im having to shout at my mobile phone for people to hear me - hands free.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. How about the Hyundai iX20 (nearly went for one of these), Kia Venga, New Nissan Note or Ford B max ( 1.0 ecoflex engine in this excellent)0
